It’s out with the old and in with the new….isn’t that what Sharpay said? Anywho, Spring is in full effect and I couldn’t be any happier about the longer days and warmer nights, louder laughs and banter, excited hands grasping the bottlenecks of chilled Heineken and Guinness bottles, and watching Dominic Toretto making the impossible possible on those busy highways because how does he do it? As much as I love indulging in this beautiful time of the year, I know it hates to see me coming with my wallet in hand and brown canvas handbag dangling from my shoulders. I love to love a new thing, so here are some new things that I truly loved about April:

Love Island All Stars Season 2:

….I’m sorry, listen, I promised myself to never fall into the epidemic of love-centered competition reality shows, especially those filmed on exotic remote islands with shirtless video reels and bikini cameos, but I know you guys saw that clip of Rob from Love Island USA during that Andre dumping and….ANYWAY if you loved that you’re gonna get a real kick out of All Stars. The accents are so endearing and the male contestants, or should I say the lads, are so charming and witty, especially the little accent they place on the back half of their words and the tiny inflection when they say naurrr. All is fair in love and war, but is it ever truly? All the gloves are off in this series since all of the contestants are Love Island veterans, but it is such a loveable series and from the first episode I’m sure you’ll be hooked from their backstories. By the end it’ll have you ordering your next summer swimsuit while saying “The boy I would like to couple with is…”

MILK MAKEUP Cooling Water Jelly Tint Lip + Cheek Blush Stain

With spring finally in bloom, it’s finally time to ditch winter makeup practices. Winter is essentially known for contoured and foundation heavy looks, but that can be a real drag once the summer heat picks up. Spring is all about pastels and a lighter, healthier glow and complexion. This milk makeup blush does just about that, and gives the skin a dainty, more subtle pink glow as opposed to a harsher more opaque blush. It’ll sit beautifully on your skin combined with your regular springtime beauty routine!

I do not know how this woman got her fame, BUT she knows how to get down in the studio! Tylas songs feel reminiscent of Rihanna’s debut music early in her career. The sounds, the rhythms, and the island nostalgia it brings make this an ideal song to usher in the summertime season with. If you’ve never had good rhythm, your day may be coming soon once you turn this song on. It’ll have you up and jumping before you know it.

Each and every item on this list has brought me the biggest smile and laugh throughout the month of April. Transitioning between seasons can always feel a bit jarring; saying goodbye to the long nights and cold days has an air of melancholy to it. But, as we fully immerse ourselves into the season of beauty and renewal, I highly encourage you to try a thing or two from this list, I guarantee it will bring you a pocketful of sunshine as you tackle the rest of the season. Rooting for ya, but I will do so while I finish this new season of All Stars, because by the looks of it, the islanders are gathering by the fire pit, and I think someone is just about to get dumped from the island.
