MARIA'S NOTES

Besties…I fear most of the summer season is behind us. Although, I did spend most of mine behind big windows and four walls because the New York City summer sun was too intense, but I do hate to see it go. The month of July has brought all of us a lot to look forward to, and mannnn did it deliver. Here’s a list to round out a few of my July favorites as we begin to take on the last official month of summer:

1. The Summer I Turned Pretty

I hope you’re not side eyeing me because I’m side eyeing you for not watching this show yet. This toxic love triangle has rolled over into season three, but this time, marriage has entered the equation. This season promises to bring a complete resolution to the long awaited question mark looming over belly’s heart, and the answer comes in the form of an “I do” but to whom?

2. Huda Beauty Creamy Kohl Longwear Eye Pencil

This retractable eyeliner is a must have in your summer makeup rotation for its transfer-resistant and creamy pigmented formula. This has been an old reliable of mine for months, and has faithfully lived up to all the expectations I had anticipated for it. Trust me, after a long day of strutting through malls and staying outside in the summer heat, your precise lines and winged liner will stay intact all day for all your picture perfect moments, and the moments you wanna flirt a little 😉 

3. Kehlani- Folded

Guys, I was never a believer but I can truthfully say I believe this woman can sing and do it well. Kehlani’s folded has been doing such big numbers across mainstream social media, and the overarching message on the tug of war of love, while still having lingering feelings for a past lover is all too real and relatable. In a season of summer loving and living love freely, this sultry sentimental track reminds us of love’s two-faced nature, which can leave us wanting that significant other so far removed from us their out of sight and out of mind, but still giving into our tender hearted desires to just be with them.

There you have it, besties! If you’re a bit of a slow starter, don’t you worry, you haven’t missed a thing. Summer is still happening all around you, in your heart, mind and soul, and more importantly in all the little moments that come with being outdoors and connecting and investing quality time in the people you love, so it still isn’t too late to jump in on all the fun this season has to offer and making memories this season. With that, I bid my besties adieu, apparently there’s more drama happening outside the villa that I absolutely cannot miss.
